ECT Automated Cargo Flow Procedure

1st Step

Customer Booking

The process begins with the customer completing the cargo booking in accordance with the airline’s scheduling and documentation requirements.

ECT booking system

2nd Step

Cargo Arrival and Receiving at Track Dock

Based on the confirmed booking schedule, the cargo arrives at the designated track dock. The shipment is received and verified using a Handheld Terminal (HHT) scanning system to ensure proper entry into the system.

3rd Step

Carton Scanning in Scan Room

All cargo cartons are transferred to the scanning room, where each box undergoes security and system scanning to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.

4th Step

Bin Loading After HHT Verification

After successful scanning, the cartons are scanned again using the HHT and systematically loaded into designated storage bins for tracking and inventory accuracy.

5th Step

Induction into ULD/ASRS System

Once scanning and bin loading are completed, the carton boxes are inducted into the ULD handling system or the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).

6th Step

Retrieval Prior to Flight and ULD Build-Up

Within the ASRS, the SRM (Storage and Retrieval Machine) automatically stores the cargo in the assigned storage location, ensuring optimized space utilization and system-controlled inventory management.

7th Step

Post Build-Up Handling

After ULD build-up is completed, the loaded ULD may either be temporarily stored or directly transferred to the airside station, depending on the flight schedule and operational requirements.

8th Step

Storage by ETV

The ULDs are stored using the ETV (Elevating Transfer Vehicle), which ensures safe and efficient vertical and horizontal movement within the system.

9th Step

Final Retrieval for Dispatch

According to the aircraft departure time, the ULD is retrieved from storage and transferred to the airside station for final dispatch preparation.

10th Step

Aircraft Loading and Departure

From the airside station, the ULD is transported via dolly to the aircraft and loaded accordingly. The aircraft then departs to its designated destination as per flight schedule.
